Exhilarating Bruny Wildlife Adventure, Tasmania

Innkeepers Tasmania's marketing manager Karen Rees had the pleasure of personally experiencing the exhilarating Bruny Wildlife Adventure last Sunday. This cruise is one of Innkeepers Tasmania's experience products and can be booked through our Central Reservations Office 1300 130 269 or on our website http://www.innkeeper.com.au/.

Setting out from Hobart the whole experience was one of professional service and operational efficiency. Greeted by friendly staff our group was fitted out with made-to-measure all weather coats that would ensure we were warm and ocomfortable at all times during the trip. Boarding the Peppermint Bay II luxury catamaran we were seated and soon had coffees, muffins and the morning paper in hand.

The cruise on the sparkling Derwent River was leisurely and pleasant, although it took no time at all to reach our first stop at Roberts Point, Bruny Island. Greeted by a fleet of the seasons's first cray fishermen returning with their haul of the previous night we embarked on a short bus journey to Adventure Bay. Our able and knowledgeable host Rob shared informative and entertaining stories of Bruny Island's history whilst we took in the scenery of the island's rolling green hills and picturesque bays.

Our boarding of the Adventure expedition vessel took all of 10 minutes and we were away across the silver surface of the bay where Captain Cook once landed. Speeding along the towering cliffs, rounding some of the areas amazing sea stacks featuring names such as 'The Totempole" our group was warm, happy and well entertained. The young skipper and guide shared stories, adventure and launched an underwater camera to allow guests to see just who was lurking below.

The adventure's highlight was a visit to a large fur seal colony at what is know as 'The Friars'. Here a bunch of male seals hold court and entertained us with their inquisitive antics. The underwater camera came into its own with close up views of the whiskered faces of our slippery friends.

On the return journey we were graced with a visit from dolphins and several large flocks of shearwaters or mutton birds. All whilst munching on a healthy snack of dried fruit and biscuits. The return journey to Hobart was again aboard Peppermint Bay II with a delectable lunch of fine Tasmanian produce and a stop at Woodbridge which will soon be replaced with a lunch on Bruny Island Island itself.

The company has just launched a special rate of $165 per person for this stunning adventure. Book your tickets online now with Innkeepers Tasmania to make full use of this opportunity!

Why not secure your accommodation in a nice hotel, motel or apartment in Hobart while you're there? Or add a car rental offer with our preferred partner Red Spot Car Rental. All can also be done through our Central Reservations Office on 1300 130 269.
